2008 Honor Roll Applications Now Available
March 28,2008
Applications are now being accepted for the 5th annual Catholic High School Honor Roll, a list of America’s Top 50 Catholic high schools judged on the criteria of academic excellence, Catholic identity, and civic education. The list is published nationally and is a resource for parents, schools, colleges and donors. As a constructive award competition and evaluation program, the Honor Roll is designed to recognize and encourage excellence in Catholic education.
How Does it Work?
- 3 surveys=complete application: principal, theology chair, and social studies chair. Begin your application online now.
- Cost: There is no cost for schools to apply online.
- Packet: Application packets have been sent to all Catholic high schools in the United States. If your school has not received a packet, please complete our database update form.
- Deadline: May 15, 2008
- Scholarship: $2,000 drawing for online applicants
- Award Announcement: Fall 2008
- Evaluations: Detailed evaluations and feedback for all applicants.

2008 Honor Roll Applications Coming Soon

Applications: Applications for the 2008 Catholic High School Honor Roll will be available soon. As in year’s past, application packets will be sent to all Catholic high schools in the United States and schools will be given over 6 weeks to apply. The packet will include instructions on how to apply. If your school has not received application information before, please complete our database update form.
Prepare Now: For schools to prepare for this year’s applications, please click on the checklists shown below. Because the Honor Roll surveys include some statistical information, we recommend gathering this information first in order to make the survey process easier.

2007 Catholic High School Honor Roll Announced

The Catholic High School Honor Roll today announced its fourth annual selection of the best 50 Catholic secondary schools in the United States. The purpose of the Honor Roll is to recognize and encourage excellence in Catholic secondary education. It is a critical resource for parents and educators that honors those schools that excel in three categories: academic excellence, Catholic Identity, and civic education.

2007 Honor Roll to be Released Soon

Due to the remarkable quality of schools applying for the Honor Roll, as well as the increased number of applicants, the 2007 Catholic High School Honor Roll - the Top 50 Honor Roll list along with the category leader lists for academic excellence, Catholic identity, and civic education - is set to be released in early October.
Thank you to the numerous administrators, teachers, and other staff that completed surveys. Your time, effort and hard work are appreciated and do not go unnoticed.
Schools can expect to receive the performance evaluations just after the Top 50 announcement. If you have any questions that are not addressed in our FAQ, please contact Anthony Pienta at info@chshonor.org.
In addition to the applications, there are some new features coming, including the individual evaluations for schools and online resources for parents, teachers, and administrators. It is our hope that these changes will make it easier for both schools and parents to access and navigate web resources, and also encourage schools to do their best.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Sept. 27, 2006) –The Catholic High School Honor Roll today announced its third annual selection of the best 50 Catholic secondary schools in America. The Honor Roll provides a powerful resource to parents and educators by acknowledging those schools that best maintain high academic standards, uphold their Catholic identities, and prepare students to actively engage the world.

2006 Honor Roll To Be Released in Mid-September

Look for the Top 50 Honor Roll list along with the category leader lists – for academic excellence, Catholic identity, and civic education – to be released in mid-September.
More schools applied for this year’s Honor Roll than in the previous two years, which will certainly increase the intensity of the competition. Also, our recently redesigned webpage now features a virtual newsroom that tracks news stories about Honor Roll schools.
As always, it is our pleasure to honor the good work of Catholic high schools across the country. We would like to thank the numerous administrators, teachers, and other staff who completed surveys for this year’s Honor Roll. The winner of the $1,000 prize – for a randomly chosen school that submitted all three surveys online – is Marian High School of Mishawaka, IN. Congratulations!

As of May 23, 2006, the application period for the 2006 edition of the Catholic High School Honor Roll is closed. Applications postmarked by the deadline will be accepted. Questions regarding applications (including extensions for schools with particular circumstances) can be directed to Anthony Pienta at info@chshonor.org.
